The Purpose of Purpose at Work

When Satya Nadella took over as CEO at Microsoft, he sent a letter to every employee. It closed with the following:

Finally, I truly believe that each of us must find meaning in our work. The best work happens when you know that it’s not just work, but something that will improve other people’s lives. – Satya Nadella

How do you do that?

First, begin by examining your own actions. Then, find out what people actually feel with regard to purpose. I call this creating “the list.” It can be simple and no-cost, but “the list” can be eye-opening.

Here is how to use “the list”.

For a very short video click on www.energybartools.com/resources and watch at the video titled No Information = Danger. If you like that, here is a link to a free e-book titled The Magic List.

I read the Satya Nadella quote in a fine article by Ann Flanagan Perry. I highly recommend it. Click here to access How Leaders and Coaches Cultivate Purpose at Work

I hope you’ll share your thoughts about cultivating purpose at work.
